Tsunami

A tsunami is a series of ocean waves experienced as a result of a sudden and significant disturbance in or near a body of water. This disturbance is often caused by geological events such as underwater earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, or landslides. Tsunamis can travel across entire ocean basins at very high speeds and can reach heights of several meters when they approach coastal areas. The immense energy and speed of tsunami waves can lead to catastrophic impacts on coastlines, including flooding, destruction of infrastructure, and loss of life. Unlike regular ocean waves generated by wind, tsunami waves have long wavelengths and can occur with little warning, making them particularly dangerous.
